Finished Magazine Contents Page

Here below is my finished magazine contents page

Here is my finished contents pages, Through my prodcution process I have discussed the reasons for using certain, texts, fonts and colour schemes. In conclusion I feel my contents fits the style which I have intended.

Magazine Contents Page Production Process

Below is my process of production for my finished magazine double page spread.

As you can see i have started to put together my contents page, I have used my main actor (Roshan) as the main image for my contents as thats what my double page sprea is about. I have used a grey and white style to connote a old school, or newspaper like style as my double page spread is about my actors childhood. I main text font is impact to stand out to the reader. In addition I will be using other secondary images as article for my contents page. However I have used a glow which is in the bottom right hand corner to smarten my page up, I am still undeceided where to place it at the moment.

Now my contents page is shaping up, as I have included lines seperating pictures and article so the reader does not get confused. I hae added small text boxes onthe corner of each picture to tell the reader were they can find this informaton.

I have now started to progress through adding new headlines and article for readers to see, I have included at the bottom left of this page which artist are included in this magazine. With the page numbers highlighted below. As you can see I have now moved my glow to the top right hand corner were I feel this makes impact on this page and makes the page looks smart and neater and less plain.

Here is my final contents page, as you can see I have now filled my contents page, including whereto find free poster and "Real Talk" with the main man. I have used certain colour schemes like purple and yellow to tie in with my magazine front cover and double page spread, overall I am happy with my contents page.

Finished Magazine Front Cover

Below is my finished magazine cover which I have been working on for some time.

Magazine Front Cover Production Process

Here I am going to be posting the production process of my Magazine front cover, I will be posting pictures of how my construction came along.

Here is the start of my magazine, as you can see I have only added my black background and created my masthead which is at the top of my page. My masthead is bold and ironic to capture the readers eye.

I have now inserted my main image to the magazine, I have made adjustments to this image such as rendering this image. I will be explaining this on another post. I think this main image is good as it sets the tone of my magazine.
As you can see I have added a purple outer glow to my text, this is to ensure my text is visible and stands out to the reader. Also I have used purple as this is part of mycolour scheme. In addition the purple I have used connotes power and royalty. These two combined add to my magazine style. I have added my headline and volume edition too. My headline is bold to stand out and the colours I have used are to signify my house style. "Volume 1" is in a graffiti like text as my magazine genre is rap, and graffiti is normally linked with this type of music.
I have now added anchorage text to my magazine to make my magazine look more professional. However my anchorage text consists of the term "Real Talk" which is displayed in a different font. "Real Talk" is basically the magazines very own independent Q&A with celebrity rappers. In addition I have added a banner across the top of my page which displayed artist which are in this page. I have used my colour efficiently as they go with my house style, and my buzz word which is "Exclusive" is in red to symbolise its importance.

Final
Here is my finished magazine front cover, I have added a barcode and a QI code to make my magazine cover look professional. Overall I think my magazine complies with my genre perfectly with the colours schemes and my main image used.

Magazine Mock Fonts

Below are my Mock Fonts I was considering using for my magazine front cover Masthead, I have thought carefully about my final choice and will explain below.

Here are my magazine text fonts I was considering using, I have used Adobe Photoshop to modify the text as I have added outer glows to each text consisting of different colours. I have added these glows to give the magazine impact and draw the reader in.

The font I have eventually used is the top font on the page. I have used this font as it is bold and dynamic to my magazine. The purple glow represents royalty but also the rap genre of my magazine too as the purple connotes a strong content about my magazine to the readers, and captures the readers eye.

Magazine Mock Shots

Below are my mock shots which I have taken in order to create my music magazine, I have only used four of my pictures which I have taken.
Picture 1
This is the first picture I have taken, I have used this as my main image as the facial expression given is a serious look, as i want my main image to look serious in order for my magazine cover to look intimidating to the readers. The mise en scene used within this picture is exceptional as my actor is wearing all black which connotes his youth, and a pull over hat which connotes his personal image. And a black hooded top which is stereotypically related to young youths.

Picture 2

My second picture used is of the same actor, but the mise en scene used is different as my actor is wearing a black balaclava, also my actors facial expression is directly looking into the camera as he is the main focus point. As a whole my main image connotes fear and connotes what a youth who is a gang member would look like. As my magazine cover is about my rapper who has grew up in gangs I think it is appropriate to use this image. I have used this picture on my double page spread.

Picture 3

My third image I am using for my double page spread, This image is appropriate as my double page spread is about this artist getting out of the hoods and streets and how he is a changed man. The mise en scene used within this pictures connotes he is a changed person as he is wearing casual clothes and not dark thug like clothing.

Un Used Pictures
Below are the rest of my mock shots which I haven't used in my Magazine
I have not used these images as simply they do not fit the purpose of my magazine. Some of the pictures used have bad lighting and other have bad facial expressions.
Contents
However these pictures below are featured on my contents page, although the images are the same I have modified them too, you can find my modifications on my photoshop practises post. In addition I have used these two images on my contents as I was creating an old school look as most grime raps are stereotypically dressed in black and white so i wanted to create that mise en scene among my contents page for the reader.
